Foods That Lower Blood Pressure
There is No Scientific Proof But...

There is no scientific proof that there are foods that lower blood pressure. However, there are foods that can help reduce high blood pressure or hypertension.

A person with "normal" blood pressure is at 120/80 mmHg or below. A blood pressure level of 140/90 mmHg or higher is considered high blood pressure. If your blood pressure is high you may consider changing your lifestyle.

If you smoke now is the time to quit or at least reduce the consumption of cigarettes and alcohol. If you are overweight losing weight will reduce risks associated with high blood pressure and blood pressure rises as the bodyweight increases.

You may also lack exercise and there are exercises to lower blood pressure or help to reduce blood pressure.

A balanced diet is always a good idea and there are foods that lower blood pressure or rather said may help reduce elevated blood pressure. Avoid processed and fast foods and try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Eating foods low in sodium and salt can reduce high blood pressure also.

Foods to Help Decrease High Blood Pressure

  • low fat dairy
  • whole grains
  • vegetables
Avoid eating foods that are high in saturated fat, cholesterol and total fats.
