What Jump Rope Length Is Right For You?
Before buying a jump rope, it is important that you figure out what jump rope length is right for you.
The length of your jump rope is very important in how efficiently you will jump rope.
If it's too long, you're going to have a hard time swinging it around and it's going to smack off the ground causing too much friction and a missed jump.
On the other hand, if it's too short you're going to hitting the rope off your shoes (or bare feet if you're a daredevil). Again, this will cause a missed jump.
Therefore, like Goldilocks and the three bears, it's going to have to be "just right".
So what is just right for you?
Here is a simple table to help you figure that out.
Anything over 6'6" and you might have to call around and see if a company can specially make you a jump rope if it ends up being too short.
Another Option To Decide Proper Jump Rope Length
There is actually another way you can do this as well, although it's not entirely necessary. I figured I'd put it in here just so you have more options.
Get a jump rope and stand in the middle of it. Then bring each handle as high as it can go. It should be roughly around your arm pits.
The only problem with doing this is that everybody has a different body shape.
Put It To Good Use
Now that you've figured out what jump rope length you need, you need to buy one.
